The history and origins of smoothies and teas

Two common drinks that have been consumed for generations are smoothies and tea. The Caribbean is thought to be where smoothies first appeared, as crushed ice and fruit were combined to create the drink. Yoghurt, milk, and honey are just a few of the components added to smoothie recipes over time.

The history of tea dates back to at least the 10th century BC, making it one of the oldest alcoholic beverages in existence. It is thought to have had its beginnings in China, where it was employed medicinally. Tea is created by steeping Camellia sinensis plant leaves in hot water to create a tasty beverage.

As I previously indicated, smoothies are thought to have its roots in the Caribbean, where they were traditionally produced from a combination of crushed ice and fruits.
